Michael has almost 30 years experience as a professional photographer. After graduating from photography school, Michael moved into the world of advertising photography as an assistant and quickly became a partner in a top studio. He gained a reputation as a photographer who was meticulous in the detail of the clients advertising campaign and extremely creative in the construction and lighting of his work.

He was rewarded by being sought by the top advertising agencies and companies in New Zealand. Over the years many awards were bestowed from both the photography and advertising communities, being awarded the top honor as a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography < NZIPP>. In fact he was so highly awarded that he was appointed Chairman of the Honours Board of the NZIPP and twice awarded the Presidents Award for services to the industry. He has also been a leading judge for many years of photography awards in N.Z & Australia.
